If you wound up with a 15 direct, it shifts and drives exactly like a 10 spd, unless you are hauling heavy loads or are off road, now if you wound up with a 15 over, you would just confuse your students because of the shift pattern.
If they learn a 10 and a 13 spd, they will be good to go these days.
