I have been this for 11 years now, it will get easier and pretty soon you won't be able to sleep when he comes home because you are so used to sleeping alone! I hope my hubby doesn't see that. LOL

But I think that is what I am the most affraid of. That we will get to used to it and lose the very close connection we always had. It's almost like we are living two seperate lives now. We have been together since we were 15 and 16 and honestly never spent a day apart in 9 years. Im just so affraid i don't want things to change. It's almost like I don't want to get used to it. I have read horror stories on here about his employer keeping people out for 3 months plus. If he would stay out that long my four year old will be five, my one year old will be 2, and the baby will be crawling, and he will have missed all of it. He has been gone 25 days now and I still sleep on the couch every night (for the very few hours I can sleep). Its just to sad to be in the big bed without him.

The cell phone has made life on the road alot better. Your on the road but you are still connected. If someone gets to missing daddy, hey daddy is just a call away.My 6 yr old girl will ask whatcha doin dad? I know, your working in your big truck haha. I've missed some things over the yrs but I have seen alot that my kids did. And uknow I've driven 1000 miles to see a ball game or dance recital and look around and dads that work regular jobs not there. My kids know if I'm not there at least I wish i was.My 20 yr old son just text me,Hey daddy I love u,b careful today. I must have done something right.Thank u LORD for my family.

Me and my wife are high school sweethearts. Been married 25yrs Nov. Try not to look at it as two seperate lives, look at it as two loving parents working hard together to raise a family. Your job at home is just as IMPORTANT as his. My wife and I talk and text all through the day. We're like teenagers crazy about each other. But plz dont belittle what daddy does.Let them know what daddy does is very important and that he loves them very much. I know he's under alot of stress because evryone he loves is home and he is alone. But this may be temporary till he can find something local. So be strong and get OFF the couch and back in the bed so the kids want think something is wrong.Kids are pretty sharp uknow.
