Hi all. I'm 47 years old and been a machinist for many years. Recently laid off and looking for a new career. Came here to get some information.

Like any other enterprise, trucking rewards those who work hard and who work smart. It is a business with lots of variables to juggle. The Self often takes a back seat to the needs of the work. Reading forums is good, lots to be learned from those willing to share. At the very least, run legal so John Law does not take what money you do earn, out of your pockets. In five years I have only had one citation, for overweight, and that cost me $198.

Hello!!!!!! Recently I became a displaced worker and received a WIA grant from my home state to go to school. Now I will be at orientation with Swift in April!!!!!! Good luck with your search. You are old enough for me to tell you there are pros and cons on every venture!!!!!!
