at a pilot in fresno a swift driver flew into the fuel island going the oppsite direction going like 40mph i was cleaning my winshield like "WTF only swift "

10-mph max. Not 12. Slower yet if a mega, rock hauler or container is behind you.
It’s a ###### good habit to only ease along ANYWHERE you go. Any yard or parking lot. Those are the INEXCUSABLE accidents. DOES NOT MATTER ONE BIT THE DISTANCE OR THE CLEARANCES.
Run into a driver — a tired family man walking up to the C-store and not paying much attention — and I’ll be part of the crowd dragging you out of the cab. Lead pipe in hand.
Some guys only learn one way. Don’t be one of them.

there's your answer -
I have seen a lot of what I call speeding in truckstops, not only there at shippers and recievers. I could never understand the thinking that a guy had to be in a hurry to go a hundred yards or so.
I know a guy that was raised around trucks, infact his folks supplied the tankers and some of the trucks and drivers for the movie convoy, if any of you remembers it.
Anyway, he could handle a truck as good as most before he was old enough to get a license, but was the type that liked to go fast, even backing up he would show off and back in, in a hurry. He killed a 3 year year old girl that ran out from between 2 trucks in a truckstop parking lot in Mt I think. Maybe if he was idling along, uit would have had the same turnout, but we or he will never know, cuz I highly doubt he was easing along.
A few years back, a werner truck ran over a driver in the TA parking lot, in Amirillo Tx. I can't say for sure that he was driving too fast, but it damaged the truck and broke out the passenger side headlights.D.Tibbitt Thanks this.
