sounds like the 7cz head had valve recession to the point the head is coming off.

ACERT crankshaft will take you from 15.8ltrs down to 15.2ltrs. benefit being you can now use 5.4 liners instead of 5.5. you can only use the ACERT 4 bolt rod on the ACERT crank. theyre not interchangeable as the journal size is different.

if you can find a crank and rods at a reasonable price they will fit straight onto your C16 block. blocks are fundamentally all the same. late 3406E,C15,C15 ACERT, C16,C18. subtle differences but fundamentally the same.

I would suggest the combo I often use in ACERT conversions.

put the ACERT crank in your block, use the ACERT rods with 16:1 compression IPD one piece steel pistons. (actually piston porn those things) use a cat 5.4 C15 cast liner and the cat piston ring combo that has, touch wood, never let me down yet. a cat 20r0409 reman head. get your injectors done and if you wish go up one tip size. reuse your valve train. if the cam is damaged fit 800hp 15 marine cam. fit borg warner non wastegate turbo.

last ACERT I did with one size up tips, 800hp cam and small borg warner made 612hp to the ground with the fuel turned right down and only 575hp C16 flash file.

he pulls triples in a 908. rarely goes over 90 degrees coolant temp, almost impossible to get pyros over 520 degrees and it returns good fuel economy.
