I'm interested in YRC and ABF surviving even if I don't want to work at either one.
BTDT on closed shops. But their existence is helpful.
The link above was to show how unions get a foothold, it's always because of crap management. Recent article quoted business professor saying most of the business problems today are from the management sector. -

Or do you think it’s more likely that, at some point in time, the company said “hmm.. it costs us less to treat drivers well and pay them more , because if we don’t, they’ll run over to ABF or YRC and we’ll end up being a training yard for those guys. Or worse yet, we’ll be negotiating a new Teamster contract every few years” -
