Looking for some advice on what may be going on with my truck. So here's the deal.
About a week ago I noticed my oul gauge was pegged at 100 psi. I stopped to check the oil and look around figuring at 100 psi of more I'd probably blow a gasket or had possibly blown one, and couldn't find anything. I have noticed that when I turn the key over the gauge just goes straight to 100 Psi before the engine comes on and just stays there. So far it has done this both when the engine is cold and warmed up, so I'm leaning toward a pressure sensor.
But now I'm having a CEL come on intermittently when I'm under load. If I try to pull off the highway and check the computer, it goes away. Finally, just a bit ago I revved the engine to see if the light comes on. It does, but it's popping up with a warning about the fact that the parking brake is on before I can really get a chance to check the codes And by the time I let off the gas and wait for the warning to go away, the CEL goes away and it stops seeing a fault.
I did manage twice to get it to show me the fault it's registering is an "engine oil pressure" issue, but as soon as I let off the gas it goes away and you can not look at past codes and it's not telling me that it's a low or high pressure issue Just that it's an issue. But with the oil pressure gauge at 100 psi all the time, whatever issue I'm having may not be easily found anyway.
Am I wrong to try and head home at this point? I'm about 800 miles from home. Or is this a small enough issue that I just need to worry about replacing the sensor when I get home?

Probably just a oil psi sensor stuck in range. What truck & engine?
With oil pressure it's always a good idea to get a look at it sooner than later. Especially since we are pretty sure the pressure is not accurate therefore you have no idea what the pressure really is.spsauerland Thanks this. -
It's a 2012 KW t660 with an MX13.
Yeah, I'm thinking when I get back I need to pull it in. But I'd like to fix it myself if possible. Any info other than swapping engines, is appreciated. An engine swap is on the list for the future anyway.

Sensor is located Drivers side front of the engine on the side. Its tucked in nice and tight behind a bracket and is kind of a PITA to access. Definitely spin a new sensor in it first as it is the most common failure.
As you likely know the engine will hit 100 psi on cold start but should not be stuck up there at Key on. Low oil psi would be a bigger concern or worry over engine issues.pushbroom and spsauerland Thank this. -

Kind of a PITA? Man I work with took off the A/C compressor and the bracket. No problem after that.

Newer engine is wide open over by the oil filter.

Not as bad as #6 injector pipe in some chasis. Why is it always #6 that needs an injector!

I follow Cummins procedure and install new tubes with a new injector. If its staying paired and just reassembled I do reuse them.pushbroom, BoxCarKidd and spsauerland Thank this.
