I know this is an old thread, but I am going to have to chime in on this. I started with Clark Transfer in December 2018. As a solo driver and a new owner operator, I still had a lot to learn about running a business in this industry. Bought a new-to-me used truck and signed on to Clark Transfer.

As with any recruiting, there was a lot of what I though was smoke blowing. Turns out, they did what they said, and even with almost $30k in truck repairs over the year, I still ran in the black while supporting a family of 5 living in California. Now, I have my wife as a co-driver, and the first few months things were looking really good. Now we are hit with this COVID-19 garbage, and even though things are not as lucrative, we are still making money. Clark's dispatching team has been amazing and the commitment of the owners to continue paying us our contracted wages while booking freight at market rates is beyond exceptional.

If you want to give Clark Transfer a fair shake, you need to be diligent, financially/fiscally responsible, and patient. They pay you for everything you do, and there is no fighting for pennies. They are honest, fair, and I hope to retire with Clark Transfer.

If you have any questions, I will tell you the good, the bad, and the ugly, just drop me an email and I'll get you my phone number for a conversation.

    Best regards,

    Eric

    Thanks Mike ,
I was in the business for over 20 years as a Company Driver , the big money gravy tours and touring trade shows are long gone , its a rush to the bottom price wise , like everything else.
There's no way Clark should discount your day rate when you sit for the load out for days on end , they should of gave you a choice to either fly you home or sit there and get paid your normal day rate and per diem.
I have never heard of someone doing that , sounds more like layover pay working OTR freight.
Theres other fish in the touring pond , in all honesty if i was you id go haul freight.
    Good Luck Mike.

    Ex Roadshow driver here.
Love all the one time posters on the thread touting the virtues of Clark.
I know a guy who was on the dedicated tour around 20 years ago. Only two or three nights in each city.
He liked it better than a week long stop on a Broadway show tour. Company truck and a dedicated tour w a popular show? he was a happy camper.
Back then they, along w Janco, did mostly touring plays and family shows.
I believe both are now strictly o/o.
With the covid don't know how they have survived but most likely hauled freight in the trailers. Most went to 53 dry boxes long ago. When I was touring it was all electronic 48' drops w dance floor ramps.
I assume with concerts and touring productions now being allowed, next spring should be good depending on this economy.
