I agree. Since you owe nothing on it, I suggest putting it on Truckpaper that is one of the largest classifed truck sales websites that I know of. there are others but that is the largest. I bought my most recent truck from of off it. I do not know of any other source that has as much volume of trucks and trailers as that one. Since it is a Pete it is likely to get a lot of looks.

JasonTheRock, thanks for the site. I had found one called Trucker to Trucker but I did not know if it was a good one or not. I will check out Truckpaper, thanks again

u will be better off selling it through truckpaper or craiglist. if you don't know the business, then u don't need to put yourself in that financial commitment.

Hi I was following your other thread, my opinion is the very last thing you want to do is sell it to a dealer. You will get taken advantage of. The used truck market is not great right now but your truck won't be worth any less in 6 months than it is now. Get it home where its safe, that way you will not have to rush to a decision. A 98 truck might be hard for anyone to finance due to its age. Your trailer is going to have a lot of interest, you will probably have a better outcome money wise if you split them up. Truckpaper is a good place to advertise if you do decide to sell it. They are free for drivers to pick up at almost any truckstop and a lot of already established owner-operator type guys that are looking for trucks read it. They are the types most likely to be able to arrange financing vs. a inexperienced guy who wants to buy a truck and jump into the business. There is also an internet version of truckpaper. You can go to that and look at trucks and trailers that compare to yours to get an idea what they are worth. That might be a good place to start.

There is work out there, I have a flatbed and have been busy as heck. Things got a little slower than normal the first month of this year but I have been cranking every since. If you have someone in mind that you can totally trust, who has some experience and won't abuse the truck, you just might be able to make a go of it. It might be a better option than selling in todays market for used trucks.

Truckpaper, Yes, if you want to sell.... maybe. Craigslist? I wouldn't. You'll get phone calls from every freak off his leash on the net.
