Ya even ELog truck prices are dropping. Most people already have them if they wanted them.

Or maybe the "Elogs won't be so bad, at least I'll get my detention" phase is overMagnumaMoose Thanks this.

Unless you’re a full independent then I see less and less benefit to having a pre ELD Truck.
Guy called my company the other day and had a ‘16 glider with a ‘99 series 60 in it. Everything sounded great and we were going to meet up until he found out he would have to run Omnitrac same as all my other trucks. Said he kept hearing that but would pass on me and keep looking.
So that whole concept has flaws unless your truly calling all the shots for yourself. I totally get why he wants what he wants but I can’t have 90% of the fleet on an ELD system then 10% out there willy nilly on a whole different program.RedForeman, rank and SL3406 Thank this. -
I know a guy that has a 94 Pete. He transitioned to a brand new truck last month. Said his old truck was a "gold mine" and was gonna "shoot for the moon" and list is for $65,000. Over 1 million miles and believe me, not without some mechanical issues either.

Do you think he would take $10,500?RedForeman and Lepton1 Thank this.

Who knows! LOL.

In the last 3 months on a 10 yr old T660, I’ve paid a couple thousand for new headlight assemblies, $4000 for a new ECM and $7000 for a DPF/catalyst/outlet. This is to say nothing of the towing, downtime and labor.
In contrast, headlights for my 1999 and 1986 trucks can be had for under $15 each, and emissions equipment costs are zero.
Are you sure you really get why he wants what he wants?fordconvert, Midwest Trucker and MagnumaMoose Thank this. -
I understand that too. I like the old trucks and have a 91 T800 still that is parked. It was my first truck I bought in 2008 so it’s special to me.
Anyway, in this case he had a 2016 Freightliner glider with the 99 engine so it’s a different scenario then yours.
Edit: I bought new headlight assembly’s for my 680 for $450 a piece. And $2500 for an ecm on my 660. Seems high? The DPF and catylist seem bout right.rank Thanks this. -
The DPF replacement still applies. Probably the ECM too.
Dealer prices in Canadian dollars. Headlight assys were the housings, clear plastic, bulbs the whole deal. Garbage.Last edited: Apr 20, 2019
