NAVKAL PRO can program blank modules, regular NAVKAL can just update to latest calibration if an update is available. 2010 Maxxforce DTs do use a separate ACM.
spsauerland Thanks this. -
Well than its called DCU i think
-
Ahhh the salesmen snowed me
-
2013 durastar, it doesnt have ad blue so i ger a lil confused
-
Yes, DCU or Downstream control unit is another name, but the actual module is the same.
spsauerland Thanks this. -
Will they need the truck to relfash the DCU without bringing the whole truck or can i bring the old module to my local dealer? This really sucks because i told my dad if i bought navkal id be able to flash the computer modules from international trucks.
I was going to buy neds, but my scanner already does pretty much everything neds does. Would NEDS tell me why my DSI module wont communicate ?
Im not getting steady communication with the module picture included. It came in because the DSI shutoff valve inst functioning and it wont start unless i vise grip the DSI fuel supply line.
Do you the location of the 24 pin connector that meets the Engine harness from the DCUAttached Files:

They need the truck. ACM/DCU are programmed with a matching ECM. You can't program them separately as far as I know. You would need to bring in the ECM and ACM together, but that is harder than actually driving the whole truck there. With all due respect, I would leave programming and updating to the dealers to do. If anything goes wrong and you corrupt an update or download, you could brick the module you are trying to update. Updating ECMs aren't really a big money maker anyway considering the software and hardware required to do it. Proper programming requires a smart charger and all other electronic devices to be disabled on the datalink to prevent data corruption during programming too.
If the communication is lost with the ACM/DCU, all the ECM will log is communication lost such as ACM not detected in 1939.
99% of the time, you have a wiring problem. So go over your powers grounds ignition and datalinks.
That connector is grey in colour and fastened to the side of the intake manifold near the egr valve.Attached Files:

Thanks again heavy D, happy Easter buddy. If i had a mentor like you in my shop id be able to help alot more people.
One more question if i was to brick a ECM would it not start? every time ive cailbrated a module i always pull the fuses of the other mouldes, like the direction state.
Im only trying to get into this because international is low cost truck compared to others and my local dealer is a 3 week wait time, lots of newer bussiness owners are buying them at auction. -
Corrupted ecm may start and run, but certain software features not work right such as aftertreatment, injection timing and so on. Sometimes they won't even connect. It depends on the level of software damage.
Wannabe tech and spsauerland Thank this.
