Except for Volvo ,the basic seat has all you need on EU trucks.
Only thing a EU basic seat doesn't have is cooling, does have 2 heating settings.
Why do so many Americans hate European trucks?

I guess we havent advanced that far over here. You can get some really stripped down basic seats which is what most fleet trucks typically have. That KW isn't really a typical fleet truck but the dealer spec'd it so what would anyone expect?
Feedman, spsauerland, Humblepie and 3 others Thank this. -
I'm pretty sure that DAF use ISRINGHAUSEN Seats, or at least the Ones sold here Do..daf105paccar, spsauerland, Oxbow and 1 other person Thank this.

Why would they corrode quickly?
They are capped and plugged, so they are as watertight and sealed as any other connector that is being used.
Same thing is done by all manufaturers, including european, even DAF, for spare connectors.
They all use more or less generic harnesses, and plug/cap connectors and cavities that are not being used.
Nothing special, nothing strange, just common practice.
Feedman, spyder7723, pushbroom and 7 others Thank this. -
I think a lot depends on the definition of "all you need".
The mega fleet owner with the post box in Romania and Romanian drivers may have a very different view on what his drivers need than the dutch/belgian/german owner operator.
I was recently in a UK-spec CF Super Space Cab, and the seat was very basic (but not as basic as the one below).
I looked it up on the (belgian) DAF website and found this as the basic seat for DAF CF/XF:
(sorry it is in dutch, english DAF website did not work):
Seatprogramme
Cloth or "artificial leather" (vinyl?)
Seat adjustment (whole seat): forward and back
Cushion adjustment: forward and back
Backrest angle adjustment
Armrest angle adjustment
Most probably nobody will ever spec this seat, or only as passenger seat, but it is available.
The seat in the KW may be basic as well, but a simple explanation may be that if it is a dealer stock truck, they may not even have considered speccing the seat in detail, because the future owner will want to have the seat replaced with the exact seat he wants.
So why bother in the first place, if you know that it will most likely have to be replaced anyway.pushbroom, Oxbow, spsauerland and 2 others Thank this. -
In all honesty,i have never seen a drivers seat with that few settings.
Note i highlighted driver.
Now the passenger seat that is a different story.
On my previous truck it didn't even have suspension.
Not a issue as all i ever use that seat for is hanging my jacket's on to dry after being in the rain.Cat sdp, Oxbow, spsauerland and 3 others Thank this. -
There you go wrong, at least over here. If the driver reports sick because of his back, the company still has to pay him. Up to two years even. Wouldn't surprise me if the company can even be fined for not supplying the driver with an adequate working place.
If the driver complains about his seat, he can go to a special doctor for work related affairs (every company has a contract with such a doctor), and the doctor may prescribe a better seat, or even a special seat adapted for this driver.daf105paccar Thanks this. -
I have those luxury air (highest possible at the time) seats in both Daf.
One of very few good things about Daf are seats actually, apart from ventilation which is a joke, small fan covered with piece of cupboard with holes in it. Which never really works, but even if it does, you don't really feel it.Oxbow, spsauerland and daf105paccar Thank this. -
work clothes because he drives a daf?
dont know but since they are consoling each other and one of them is half naked i believe this will end up in one of them will take advantage of other one.....sdaniel, rollin coal, nevesu and 3 others Thank this. -
yes this is what is always interesting to me, take more care about look of truck than its features.
if i am driver i would care more how it is to drive/live in that truck than how it looks. my body back would appreciate more better seat/cab suspension than alcoa wheels, texas bumper metallic color etc....
there is something i have noted in video.
clutch pedal is suspended not comming from floor which is what i like more of course
brake pedal is mounted to floor, that thing would be illegal here. what if something stuck under pedal and you are not able to brake?
i like gas pedal to be fitted to floor, your leg feels more comfortable after long hours but i dont see them anymore on trucks i guess this is not allowed toodaf105paccar Thanks this.
