Corrupted ecm may start and run, but certain software features not work right such as aftertreatment, injection timing and so on. Sometimes they won't even connect. It depends on the level of software damage.

Well i havent cailbrared this one yet, but maybe the rental fleet did. Ive been seeing alot of 4 year 5 year durastars with flakey numbers on scanner readouts. All of them bought on the used market
