I vote tanker. Bulk tanker is cool. I pulled a set of double pneumatic tanks and loved it. Flatbed is bad ### and also cool. You’ll get a little more of a workout. The only skateboarding I did was hauling totes of oil or def. I threw a strap over each row. Wouldn’t really ever say I was a flatbedder. You’ll make more in a bottle tho.
D.Tibbitt, Lepton1 and homeskillet Thank this. -
I would say the red is areas they don't have a lot of freight in. So, they don't want a driver from Houston, TX or Columbus, OH telling dispatch "I want my home to be in Boston, MA this weekend".Chinatown Thanks this.

You might consider Britton Transport. I work there. It is a smaller company with about 115 trucks, 20 or so of them flatbed. I am in the flatbed division. You would have to go out at least briefly with a trainer but he is great. He is on this forum. It is @MrEd. Best wishes to you!

Thanks everyone! I'll be filling in applications and calling around tomorrow morning. Gotta get back to work. If I'd have known I could get started in flatbed I'd never have went to cfi
Lepton1, Truckermania and Chinatown Thank this. -
How can you tell if someone’s a milk hauler?
Wait five minutes, they’ll tell youChinatown Thanks this. -
So...it was CFI? I don't think I'd seen you admit to that before...seen LOTS of people ask where you were, but this is the first time I've seen the answer...
I worked at Cumberland Farms back in '91 for about 4 months...anyways, you could always tell the drivers doing farm pick-up cuz they smelled like cow manure...
Not meant as an insult, just an observation... those guys do some tricky backing up at some locations. And when I was a teenager, I spent plenty of time on my uncle's farm pitching manure... -
Yeah I dont usually throw shade at companies but they pissed me off and since I'm fired it doesnt really matter if they get pissy.booley Thanks this.
