I have been hauling washed concrete sand in my end dump for this whole season so far! I am begging to notice that it is a good industry! The investment seems to be just a day cab, hydraulic pump, and a trailer and the money is really good! Ive seen trailers tip and other things along with it! Just want to see if any of you guys out there have good stories or tips for someone looking to buy his own equipment!

Don't raise your body until your level, try to dump on hard ground, don't ever put it in reverse and try to rush the product, in the winter, always put something on the floor to keep what you're hauling from sticking to the floor, just a few thoughts. The number 1 reason for trailers going over, IMO, is drivers rushing to dump, take your time and know your load(how it's loaded, what it is, is it frozen, etc)and with a little luck you'll keep the shiny side up and not on it's side.

Yeah the trailer i have is one of those sand masters so all 8 tires stay on the ground and it makes for a pretty level process. The dump where i go is very sketchy though the loaders there cant level ground to save there lives. Ive seen three trucks tip over there !!

I work for a guy who owns 6 trucks. Two of them are end dump trailers that me and my partner run. We work for one of the local ready mix companies bringing them sand and taking the wet concrete they wash out of there trucks to the dump. No brokers. The local quarry around here is also a dispatch that is hard to get in on but once you find your way in the pay is high and the jobs are good! The ready mix companies are the best gig though in my opinion. Same route every day and you get to know all the people so familiar faces are easier to work with.

There is nothing level, or solid about dumping in a landfill, it’s a whole different ball game. But there no money in the local rat race (which sucks to do anyways)

I always dump my leftovers in our yard instead of going to the concrete recycle place just to keep you guys making money. Lol
45 minutes drive... or dump it on the ground at the plant. -

I’m looking into hauling coal. 28-30 tons at a time. Will 40k rears on my tractor be okay for this weight?
I’m brand new to the trucking game. Just happened to have a friend at the coal mine that can get me a contract.
Thanks -
What state? Overall weight yes I run 32 ton on a set of 404s, but I know states like NY do sometimes penalize your outer bridge for the 40 vs 46
