    Elogs help prevent that now.

ELD prevents doing favors. And running wild.

I don't think you are getting what is being talked about here. Super Solo is two people running shorter runs. Say you pick up a load that delivers 12 hours away. One driver runs 9 hours and the other runs the other three. Then they take a ten hour break. Works great for drop and hooks.

So what's to stop dispatch from giving longer runs? Super Solo leaves a lot of hours on the table. In the above example, the first driver could still drive 2 more hours, the second could still drive 8.

So...are you going to trust a company to give 800 mile runs ALL the time? I wouldn't.
It has absolutely nothing to do with elogs.

    Truckermania and Intothesunset Thank this.

Reminds me when I first got my license...My brother asked his boss if we could work together as a team BUT under one condition. That we pull over and sleep at least 6 hours every night because my brother can't sleep while the truck is running. My former boss agrees of course with big smile.

Two weeks later, on Thursday night we get back to yard and we start unpacking...meanwhile I get a call from and my boss he says," I don't have any drivers. You must take trailer 53-1234 to Minnesota (from Chicago). Im not gonna pay any fines so you guys must take it tonight. Don't be lazy now."

That was beginning of the end for us. As a team dispatch knows you can run pretty much 24/7. We did pick ups and deliveries at any time.
