In the past I have had debts that I couldn't fully pay but what I did do based on a conversation with a bankruptcy lawyer is to make sure that I make a good faith effort and make some type of payment every month or every week whether it was $5 or $10 it shows a payment being made I do it through electronic deposit of course they'll take the money what they don't realize is they can't file a judgement against you because a good-faith effort is being made to pay the debt back even if it can't be in a timely manner it shows that you are being honest and doing the best you can in good faith they would have a hard time proving that you're trying to avoid the debt to get a judgement I actually have a debt that's about $650 at the moment that I feel was unjust so I only pay $1 a month electronic deposit straight to that account as of yet nothing is ever been reported and no judgement has come against me and in doing so I was able to avoid bankruptcy way back when I had even huge debt in the amount of $120,000 by doing this and giving myself enough room to breathe high-interest debts are the hardest of all to pay they just keep compiling that interest on you until you're in a hole so deep you can't dig out
Driving school debt / can they report that to DAC?

it goes on your credit report, which can makes things difficult for you to get another loan, of ANY KIND.
pay what you can monthly, and stick to that amount, more if you can at times.
even if it goes (or has gone) into collections, they will accept the payments. i cannot say however, if the interest rate stays the same, as when you signed for the loan, or gets jacked up.
and DO NOT be late with those payments. this will put a ding in your credit report as well, (in collections) but it's better than being labeled a deadbeat, and making you unable to get more credit in the future.
also, i do not believe that bankruptcy can save you from student loans, especially if they are government backed.Last edited: Apr 25, 2019

The medical stuff for me has been most challenging. As long it's being paid down at whatever amount each month they will leave it as it is without going to court etc.Insurance closed on last year at about 24000 paid and this year they are already past 40000 with more pending. A percentage of it is mine. That will take a while. However the work they have done or continue to do will be expected to be worth it.
When my spouse went to trucking school FFE paid, but we stayed on top of it 6 months in and found that there was 1800 not paid. So we paid it with a bank card all in. They were on the way to collections with that. There would have been no one at the house for months at a time at all. Or a inabsentia judgement which was what we got on a third party who owed us money and failed to show up at the courthouse on judgement day. It was entered against that party all the same.
So we have been on both sides of this. -
