Hometime trucks needing to be back for the next driver can work against them because if they don't get a launch load with good miles they have to be kept in the general area of there home yard and can't take loads that don't allow them to return at the appointed time. So they are passed over for loads that have good miles but are in the wrong direction. Also if they need to be back on Tuesday night and are nearby on Monday morning they will not see any loads more than a few hundred miles and if no short hauls are available they may go home early. Keep in mind the National drivers think the Hometime get first pick and the Hometime think the National get first pick and mileage drivers think the honor's drivers get all the miles and so on and so on. Also keep in mind with the Hometime fleet every other outing you launch on Wednsday after four days off and payroll for the following week is based on trips completed and scanned in by noon Friday which can lead to some small checks, so budgeting can be a challenge.

Thanks oldguy. Are you with Roehl now? if so hows it going? what fleet? and how are miles?

I am your neighbor. Theses are the main things I would like to know about ROEHL. I can see you are getting the miles out of Garland. Here are the questions:
1. Are there any nonsense charges or fees for anything, tolls they don't pay, equipment you have to buy that they should buy like bungees?
2. How much is health insurance for a family?
3. How often are you home in Garland?
4. How does orientation work? Do they pay you anything?
5. What is the pay with 10 years driving experience? -
Kenneth : I came over to the National fleet about four weeks ago after about 7 months on the Hometime fleet. Miles on Hometime were so bad since the first of the year that I had to move to National to try to improve them. Overall miles seem to be improving the last few weeks, but I still set a lot waiting for my next load. I have been to Mt. Vernon Tx. twice in the last three weeks which has been good miles in but always a 24 hr. wait to get out as there does not seem to be much freight in that area. I usually have plenty of company as there has been four or five other Roehl trucks there both times. I give Roehl credit, they will deadhead me 200+ miles for a load out. Freight is just slow, and I feel they are doing there best.

I would say proper English and grammar for a start. Like putting a question mark after a question. They also don't teach that Noah saddled up a couple of dinosaurs and rode them onto a really big boat in science class.
-
No they teach our forefathers used to eat banannas& swing from trees.
-
Well evidently they don't have very good driver's ed classes or instruction on how to properly report an accident . I guess Ted had pretty good swimming lessons though .

I assumed you were kidding. So was I. That Ted Kennedy thing was way before my time. Nor am I a fan of his or Kerry.
