It is legal for truck driving schools to take multiple trainees at a time. Unless there is a law that specifically states that only one passenger is allowed it is legal. We still live in the United States, so far anyway.
I don't want a family in a truck myself, but is not my business what someone else does..

You don’t forget it when you see Mamacita handle four kids under 12 out of that cab. And Papasan is already walking the three Chihuahua.
This is as they’re starting the mandatory half-hour fuel pump break behind the guy still fueling.
And he’ll be the one hitting thirty across the truckstop on the way out. -
Chihuahaus, heck I have seen 3 pits in with a whole family. lol
This may have changed over the years, but I used to see a lot of families in prime trucks. -
Got my sweetheart with me.
bzinger Thanks this. -

A few years ago a guy I know lost it on 3 mile and had 3 kids with him. he was chained but it was slick and he rolled once in the road and over the edge he went. All the kids were in the sleeper, aerodine KW and when the dust settled everything was crushed and no kids or any top at all left of the sleeper. In a panic he climbed back up to the road, and ran down the hill, his kids had all ridden bobsled down the hill staying in the road, with no injuries. God was riding along that day.

I have taken my kids with me quite a bit when they were little, one at a time though. I do try to keep the shiny side up, anyway there is way more things to worry about than how dangerous life is.

Have a friend who had an incident with another driver who ran him off the road and cause one huge accident. He was being passed by some cowboy trucker with his son riding in the passenger seat. While the guy was getting in front of him, the kid decided to get up and go into the sleeper. The road wasn't all that smooth and the trucks were hitting bumps in the road and the kid after he stood up he lost his balance and grabbed the first thing he could - the steering wheel pulling it out of the hands of his dad and shoving the truck right into the next lane where my friend reacted to it by running off the road. The truck behind his hit the truck with the kid in it and there were two cars behind that truck that got tangled up.
Now the good thing for my friend is he didn't have any damage and did drive his truck out of there but all the others involved had accident damage. My freind was pissed off, he saw the kid get up in the mirror and thought it was a bad thing and prepared for something to happen, instinct. The driver defended his kid right to the end when the cop wrote him a bunch of tickets, the other driver wanted to beat the dad into the ground and the cop had to restrain him. The guy was sued, and he lost, he tried to tell the judge that he kid did nothing wrong and he could not tell the kid what to do, he was driving, the judge asked him "who has the cdl?" -
I was thinking about taking the family on short trip with me so my kids can see how hard dad has to work to put that iPad in there hands but I’m having second thoughts now.
Maybe one at a time but not the whole family at once.
Although i must say i am searching for a seatbelt conversion for the bunks, that’s the only thing that’s stopping me is because i cant secure my kids.
