Have you ever been through Toronto at rush hour?

Well i did my first week with Averitt running local stuff for them. I really like it and maybe think about going on with them fulltime thru them if they offered. I would just have to wait and see what they offered me. My biggest grip about them is i drive to far to go to work. It takes an hour to get there then an hour to go home. I wish they would let me work out of the yard closer to me. It would save me 30-40 minutes easily. But overall i like them quite a bit. I just gotta see it for a few weeks maybe months first, thats if the hour drive doesn't get to me first. I figured it out mile wise. Just straight there and back it's like 675 miles a week. That's a lot of miles on my car a week. Really too many. Well i will keep you informed on the progress of this.

Congrats on your first week !:occasion5: I use to drive about 45 min. to work ( some times longer, depending on the weather } . At the time I was driving my '74 Bronco with a 351, and the best milage I could get was 10/11 MPGs..... After a few weeks the drive won't seem as long, and it will give you time to unwind on the way home . Are you working days, nights or a split ? I did put my application on-line with Averitt, but haven't heard back from them yet . I also called Truckers Plus, Jenifer in their Orlando office told me to fill out an on-line app... I haven't heard from her either, so I called her yesterday ( Friday ) and she said the apps all go the their central office, then are sent out to the nearest zip code to the applicant, and she would check Monday and I should call her after 2:00 PM .

Yeah thanks. It's just a long ride there just to drive for 8-10 hrs. I'm doing the second shift thing right now which is ok since it's such a long ride and i have to go through atlanta. The times i go through town there is no traffic so that helps. Funny thing is I also tried to get on with averitt on through there website and was turned down.(because of a speeding ticket in 04) But now i'm working for them through truckers plus. I just think it's kinda funny. And you really got to stay on top of them to get you going but once they do they will keep you busy. Just keep calling them and good luck.

Averitt sounds like a good company, I ve driven thru nyc during rush hour before but not in a rig, that starts on the 22nd with Service Trucking inc out of Eustis FL and its an hour plus drive to there terminalalthough I will probably only make that drive twice per month as I will be OTR,but the worst place by far I have driven is London not London KY, London England it will make you go insane, like the women there:king:

And you have to get used to driving on the wrong side of the road, or is the steering wheel just on the wrong side of the car?
