where would I get oil eater from, not sure that I've seen it
-
Dawn dish soap if you can't find any. You're not worrying about taking the wax off now anyway.

I get Oil Eater at a local farm supply store. Can buy it online as well, under that name. Works a hell of a lot better than Simple Green on grease and oil. Almost melts it off.

I would keep the wax on it. Paint without wax can be a pain to clean. Years ago I had a white car and parked under a tree a lot. It was much easier to clean when waxed. Once I had a bad stain on the bumper that I took off with bug and tar remover. For some reason I forgot to re wax that one section after removing the stain. A couple of weeks later I got a stain in that same spot. I had a hell of a time removing it.
After removing it I didn't forget to wax that time. LOL.
I owned a detail shop for three years. Wax helps the cleaning process. If your not happy with the wax why not try a different one?

I try and get some then, I'm going to wax it after I get it clean, I just haven't been able to get it cleaned good enough yet

I got some stuff called Rejex at my local hardware store, been using it on the front edge of everything that the bugs hit, it makes the bugs much easier to wash off. I put it on in the spring, and it lasts through bug season. I guess you could use it on the whole thing, but its a little more expensive than regular wax.
