You guys are talking court of law. They go by facts, not what might have happened.

 

I'm sure a quick comparison of the building position before and after in the footage will prove it. Just watched again and you can see for a moment there's no roof where it should have been when the truck is pulling away.

 

Yeah, I can see the trailer bump a little and then he stops and starts to back up. I'm fairly certain he did hit it. Doesn't look very hard, but the building is at least 50 years old. Probably a good thing that the truck damaged it because it seems like it was a gust of wind away from having it land on some patrons.

 

I hear Dave's point here. No one saw the awning before England rubbed against it.

 

Was there a sign saying that trucks couldn’t turn right?
Was there ever a building permit for this awning?
Was the awning set back from the road the proper distance?
Was this awning even structurally sound with all the rust where that pipe is connected to the base plate?
