For those in North Carolina, yesterday (Sat 4-4-09) I was searching for truck driving schools and found a program at Davidson County Community College that is not advertised, and I know, I live within 20 miles of the school. Anyway, for in-state students, the school only costs $681.25, the cost is direct from the school's website. They offer a full time and part time program.
Their site said they have spring, summer, and fall sessions. Check it out if you live around central North Carolina and GOOD LUCK!
*** Has anyone gone through this class? Pls respond and let us know how it was.

In my opinion spending 8 weeks to get a CDL when there is a growing oversupply of drivers isn't a very wise thing to do . More and more members post they have had a CDL for several months and are unable to find a job . -

I must confess, my desire to get my CDL is twofold, first, Id like to have it for when I retire from what Im doing now, so I am blessed to be in a position where I dont need a job driving. Second, where I work now, having a CDL could open some doors for me in the future.
What caught my attention was how affordable this school was. Is this price normal for a community college? I hope my "research" can help someone.
