Ok, there is your quote, which basically means burnt, fried ,ruint, financially destroyed, etc, etc.
Now how about answering the question instead of skirting around it, why would you wish that on a driver, or even more specific and OO?

to teach him a very valuable lesson as a business owner about resposibility and due care.

same goes if he was a company driver, only that he get fired, and possibly never to get a job in quick time.

whether it's an o/o or a company driver, they need to pay attention to what thier bodies are saying, rather than trying to beat any clock, ELD, or whatever, for the almighty dollar.

my hope also would be, that IF he IS an o/o, and his insurance ends up paying for this fiasco, that he be blackballed from getting any insurance at lower rates that he "might" have been getting now.......make him pay the HIGHEST insurance premiums, up and above what a newbie o/o would be paying.....

    ok now..??

Meh, lets blame it anyways. So the trailer is on fire and the driver didnt notice? Yet later he falls asleep and only wakes up after they crash? Something wrong with that scenario.

Lesson teaching business huh, at least you now included company drivers. That's a good thing, there for a minute, I thought you might be prejudice.

Since no one else is bringing it up, I'm just going to blame Houston. On a positive note...I don't think he's going to fall fast asleep again for a while.

You CANNOT deny a claim unless it was found to be Intent.

Negligence on behalf of a Driver is still classified an accident.......

If Insurance companies had that in their clause- 99% of all claims would be denied.
