No. They do the urine first and then if sugar is found they stick ya.

Not calling you a liar, but what you said doesnt make sense. I am diabetic. I am on medicine that makes me pee sugar. They do finger stick test. Im always between 120 and 150. As long as I am under 200 I get a 1 year card. No going to the doctor or such.

I was told at my last DOT physical they enter your physical into a computet database that any DOT compliant doctor can access and they are to check it before giving a phyiscal to prevent yoj from doctor shopping.

    I thought that didn't start until 2020.
Is it a national data base or within the state for now?

My PCP said that 120-140 is pre-diabetic. Anything over 140 is considered diabetic. 100 to 120 is questionable (these are 12 hr fasting numbers). Maybe DOT has different rules on that point. And my PCP's nurse did expect my glucose number to be higher considering I had eaten about 4 hours earlier. And I've never exhibited symptoms of diabetes other than frequent urination, but my Dr chalked that up to drinking too much diet Coke.

Maybe I'm being simplistic about this, but I'd start over in a different state, as I suggested before.
Doctors in California are probably walking on eggshells anyway, as the saying goes.

@CrappieJunkie just wondering if you tell them you're diabetic? I've never been told I'm diabetic or pre-diabetic, so I say no when asked. I do have occasional kidney problems and less frequently liver problems because of a previous condition, but nothing that's caused any problems in 4-5 years. I'm going to have a serious talk with my personal doctor about this.

To become a legal resident of Nevada and get a Nevada cdl using a Reno address, you just need to get an affidavit from someone showing you rent a room. Google shows what you need. After this, when you apply at the DMV to change your drivers license from California to Nevada, you just need the eye test at the DMV.
With that Nevada address, you no longer pay state income taxes or food taxes.

It's probably in the realm of medical stuff.

There are mountains of databases on me in particular. My file at my doctor was about 4 inches thick and recently converted to computer database as required a year or two ago. That is just one of several existing files which all were probably also converted as well by those doctors (I have about 20 just in Arkansas) that also went into databases as well. At least those that have not yet retired. (Three of them have, all were replaced by others) so the mountain of records roll on.

Yes, I do. I have to. I have been diagnosed for 10 years now and sugar is always in my urine. I list the medicine that causes that. Then they know why.

They have a database now that if you list your diabetic once then dont they could get me for lying.

    COBB2070 Thanks this.
