Back in the day, one of my first tractor trailer gigs was driving a beer truck. Coors was our biggest brand. In the sticks, the number one seller was PBR. In the hood, it was Colt 45. Anyways, you would have those folks in the hood cooking stuff like catfish, chicken and barbecue. It was crazy, because the the sandwiches had bread and slaw and stuff piled high, but the meat still had the bones in them. A chicken sandwich was a friend leg quarter, bones and all, stuffed between two pieces of bread, mayo lettuce and tomato. I have never had cue that was as good as the stuff they served in the hood. I’ve been to places where these restaurants have these big ol trophies and signs advertising how good their cue is, and almost always leave disappointed.
You know, it’s funny, that was during the middle of the big red vs blue gang wars. My company’s uniform colors were blue. I wore black. A black Colt 45 shirt and black dickie pants. I wanted to make sure that everyone knew I was neutral. The Koreans would buy entire truckloads of Colt 45 and sell out over the weekend. Heck, I didn’t drink the stuff (out of our brands, Killians Irish Red was my favorite). Oh, and the Coors Extra Gold. When they had it. Gun fights and murder every weekend, but no one bothered the beer man bringing in the malt liquor.SAR, cke, BigCam9670 and 15 others Thank this. -
