UPDATE:
It turns out the problem was what I feared; a broken valve on the cylinder head.
$7000 later the truck is back on the road.
D13 White smoke, 6th injector mechanical fault.

You mentioned on last pages that is D13 motor but doesn't have DPF ?! Did you have both egr and dpf deleted?Newto Trucking Thanks this. -

Not sure why the guy with 1.1 million miles is still having issues. We have changed out process a lot with new installed tools and new sealant etc. The new process is the solution. We went from doing 5 cup jobs a shift to maybe 2-4 a week. We have over 20 techs. To the guy with the white smoke, I know you fixed your truck BUT I would be really worried about the head being pitted. Ive never seen one come in the shop with the same complaint you had and didn't end up with a head. Mostly D11, but we have had D13 with the same issue. Good luck and hopefully you don't need it, though

Ok so if your getting a mechanical fault on a volvo d13 engine for injectors the last thing I would do is change it first you have to check valve height make sure tune up is correct these d13s have idle balancing so when you have a problem with a cylinder it will compensate either minus or positive depending on the problem your having so for example if cyl#6 has a problem cyl#will be compensated to the opposite of 6 please dont let these mechanics fool you into changing parts I've been doing this for 20 years now

Volvo dealership is currently putting 4th set of injectors/cups in my truck since Nov. Its costing them alot of money to keep screwing it up. Cant bring it anywhere else unless I want to shell out another 6 grand. To say the cup/injector issues are taken care of...well that all depends on who is doing them in my opinion.
