Ok... I'm in the process of changing companies. After A LOT of research, patience and prayer... we've decided to go with TDC. Ben Clark, TDC's recruiter, is awesome! I'm scheduled for orientation mid-May. So if anyone is wanting any info on TDC, I'll post honest comments soon. At present though, TDC seems to be an awesome company if you're wanting a short to medium haul company, home on weekends, and folks who evidently care about the driver and their needs and who understands them... then I believe TDC is that company.

We'll find out soon! Stay tuned.........

    gsmith...

I stayed with my current employer. I didn't like the "smell" of a couple things as I went through the initial phone interview and other things. Even though I was readily accepted, I ended up making the right decision. Why? Well... I did have a friend that went with them... and well... he lasted 1 1/2 months! Not enough miles and A LOT of Chicago. Yeah it's .44 CPM but that means nothing if you don't get the miles.

    Hope that helps a bit.

    dryman and gsmith2332 Thank this.

TDC, there is a lot I could say but mainly, the people there act nice to you, I would say they are all backstabbers, take for instance what they did to me. The 90 day period is a try out period for you, and the company. They give you a thousand dollars to start. But don't leave six days before your 90 day period is up because they will leave you with no check even though you worked for them. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone because for most of the negative reviews here hold true, the miles are averaging between 1400 and 1600 with my best week, I had to work over the weekend and I made 2300 miles that was my best week...! Had I known their weekend home time deal was a scam I wouldn't have worked there in the first place. Ben in recruiting is a liar and tells you, you will have weekends off by Friday evening this is also untrue. Because they call you back out on the road while your on your supposed home time. Don't make the mistake I made. They will just put you further behind.

Try Tyson Foods. I have been here 8 years now. Never made under 70k a year. Last year I brought down 81k. My take home is appx. 1100 a week and after taxes and contribution of 30% to my 401k. Have great benefits and insurance. Use code 00719923 when talking to recruiting. Have managed to put 90k away in 401 since starting. Average miles per week is 2800. Sometimes more very rarely less. Run less miles make more money on sliding scale. Check them out. Many drivers here 25 plus years. Won't ever go anywhere else. Yes we have our BS also but more good than bad.
