Ha! Well I think its funny! Fact is SOMEBODY paid a deposit and threw away their bottles! Hell they are everywhere! My husband gets a kick out of us canucks running to the beer store on Sundays to return our bottles!
That's how the Canadian version of a redneck makes a living!
K maybe not everyone finds the humor, BUT I SURE AS HECK DO!panhandlepat Thanks this. -
They don't mind the bottles that had a deposit on, they care about the ones that were not paid. Ontario doesn't charge a deposit fee right? Even if I was to take bottles from NS and return them to NB they would be screwed. NS would be getting paid and NB would be paying out the refund.

Beverage wholesalers in Michigan lost $$$ when Indiana containers were cashed in. I think the bar code readers on the recycle machines are now causing out-of-state containers to be rejected. New Brunswick needs to upgrade their return system.

Well if its like NS they just toss them on a table and count them. So even if they used a machine, the money would have been paid out long before then. All they really need to do is to take a random bottle out of each bag they are counting to check to make sure its from the right area.
If I was them I would watch out for people coming in with 10+ bags at a time. If they are refusing trucks they might try to bring them in 10-20 bags at a time once they are in the area.
