I am so fed up that my CAREER has now turned into a JOB (Just over Broke) with the way the economy has gone- slow freight, low paying freight, no freight, however you want to phrase it. I refuse to run up and down the road just so I can say I`m busy and putting miles and wear and tear on my equipment just for FUEL MONEY and POCKET CHANGE!!!! With the "ME" mentality out there with every one saying and thinking ~ I`ve got mine so to HELL with you. I know it`s an old story but if you think about it if eveybody on both sides of the border went home and parked their trucks `WE` as a group could bring North America to it`s knees. Just wishfull thinking on my part. The industry has been tested on numerous occasions especially when fuel hit almost $5.00/gal and where found soundly lacking as a unit. We all Bit@#ed about it but did nothing. We are still complaining about freight conditions and still do nothing. If I`m going to go broke it will on my terms and not HAULING CHEAP A $$ FREIGHT.:biggrin_25510:

    .
We had an account get under bid by $1.00 a mile this week.

By a company that currently pays it's drivers .35 a mile. Wonder how long before they ask their drivers to share the wealth?

Starcommander I feel for you. The company I pull for had 8 drop-and -hook loads to Ohio from Indiana. They went every week just like clockwork. It was not great paying freight but, it was easy and dependable. A larger Company cut the rate and took the freight. We were not getting rich so they have to be hauling it CHEAP. That is the real problem to many companies willing to work to cheap.

Thank you ampm Wayne. I see you are from Bloomington In. My American Family (friends) live in that area-Bloomfield, Worthington, Lyons and Petersburg.Have spent a lot of time hanging out with them down there. They opened their hearts and homes to me. I will always be truly gratefull to them for their friendship and making me an official member of their family. :yes2557::smt055

I have spent most of my truck-driving career running through those towns you posted. I love that area. Nice rural area.
I hope things turn-around for you.

I think the saying "Hanging in, hanging out and hanging on" applies here. I hope things turn around for everyone cause I know I`m not the only one on this sinking ship. Down but not out of the game yet! ;-)

    ampm wayne Thanks this.
