In this case, he does not have to do it yet. He's got the money, he'll need to do it in case they sue him for it. I'd rather have a clear picture, so first of all I'd find out from UBER if that's ok. If not, then I'd call a real contract attorney...my bet is they 99% of them would tell the OP to give it back ASAP. That's just me, knowing life. But I would not go on some spending spree yet.

I would put the difference between the $1900 and $19,000 in a separate account and just leave it alone. Uber will not sue without contacting you beforehand and asking for the money back. When, or if, they do the contact a lawyer and find out how strong your case for keeping the money is.
The way the Uber computer systems run just about all of their business, they may never even notice this. Computer will jive amount of contract for load. Load delivered. Load paid.

It must have been CH Robinson. Or Convoy - specialize in beer loads. Or are you 120 years old and was it in Prohibition Era?

What if they come back after it in 7 months? Any statute of limitations? Sucks to have money when you can't touch it. Itches too much.

For those who think this is “stealing”, what if it were the other way around?

Load was posted at $900 due to a typo. Driver has family emergency, is desperate to get home, books the load, gets paid.

By chance, driver later discovers it was supposed to pay $1900.

Driver comes on TTR, explains what happened and asks what can be done to get the $1000 diff. I’d bet just about everyone in this thread is saying he/she is SOL and calling him/her an idiot :D

This right here! Uber posted a load for a rate, and I booked it for that rate. The rate confirmation is a legaling binding contract.

You can pay a contractor $2,000 to remodel the bathroom, or $20,000, heck, even $200,000 to remodel it. That's why they have contracts in place.

In this case, they wanted a load moved for $19,000. I agreed at that price and book the load. A rate confirmation was sent stating the AGREED UPON PRICE.

As far as I see it, this is a done deal.

Anyone that thinks otherwise, well, we are all entitled to are opinions, it's what makes us human.
