I tend to NOT use the blinker until I plan to actually make a move, or it becomes the little boy crying wolf. Especially in Atlanta. Over four blinks and they think you just left it on.
It's now starting to get here like it was many years ago in the Rotten Apple. 3 blinks and start coming over, or you AREN'T going to get over because they ignore you.
It stinks when you have to act like a ####### just to get your job done.

But you're right....sucks to have to act like a "Richard". -
At the risk of sounding like a safety nerd, using your signal is part of the Smith System of driving. One of the five keys is "Make Sure They See You". Your turn signal is one such way, as Bo just described. However, I've done things like Red mentioned as well, especially in the big towns.

man, what a safety nerd....Scarecrow03 Thanks this. -
There's no such thing as a safety nerd.

Did i just read that someone said "you are governed at the same speed, but when you get behind another truck you get a draft"? ...LOL.....
sorry, this isnt IndyCar or NeckCAR where there is an aerodynamic effect that keeps the cars glued to the ground, and gives them downforce. Whatever 'draft' you get, is barely measureable, if any at all. ....
that is why i always get a kick out of someone in a 4 wheeler, who you just KNOW is going 5mph faster than a car that just got out of their way...yet they change lanes with them, only to pretend they are in NeckCAR, then whip out and make the pass like they were Mario Andretti.......how lame.MrMustard Thanks this. -
The most annoying thing that happens is mountain driving to me, as a Swift driver my truck does 62, thats it, Schnieder does 61 I think
or 60.5 something real close. Generally I'll just back off the speed, its stupid to try to pass.
Anyways, I was empty going north on 65 in Kentucky and got up behind a Schni truck who was heavy, and around the top of the hill I passed him with no troubles, he was heavy. HOWEVER he decided he'd use his weight as an advantage and threw it in neutral or something, and went flying down the hill doing probably 80(it was a company truck, Im sure he got in trouble for that nonsense) and did this to me 2-3 times before I finally got around him. Very frustrating and unprofessional.
Alot of drivers need to realize when to just pack it in and stop acting like douch.e bags, suck up thier "pride" and let the lighter traffic around on these big hills -
