How many seats are needing to be filled? Seems as though you've been saying this for a while now?

    2 days?!? LOL.

At least deliver the load and bring the truck back. However, I’d give it 2 full weeks at the minimum.

How many jobs have you had in the last 2 years? How many trucks do they have? What is the pay structure? What truck are you in?

I’ve had people quit after a few days just because of some bad luck. People are so quick to through in the towel.

    Why do people lower themselves?

You want to quit under a load only 26 miles away. You obviously know it’s not a good thing to do or you wouldn’t have posted it here. Saying everyone is jerks, the owner, the dispatcher, is just excuses you can use to validate to yourself quiting under load is ok.

Me personally would deliver the load since I take pride in what I do and I don’t lower my own standards of what is acceptable. Then turn in the keys and move on.

So quit then, I wouldn't quit under a load but that's just me. It'll be a nice little asterisk for anybody else calling them for a reference, might make finding another job difficult, "he'll quit the minute there's a small hill in the way, yes let's hire that guy."

Last year in mid July I was on a load with my truck headed to Seattle... It was like 95 outside and I was in Wyoming on I-25... my A/C goes out and I am dying.. I had to roll the window down to at least catch some breath... It took me like 4 more hours to stop at a truck stop and put some coolant charge in it.. Well that didn't fix it so I had to keep going. Load paid like $7,000 so I couldn't just quit... I endured that miserable heat almost to the Idaho border and I got a service shop to look at it...

SO, If I can endure LOTS of miles with 95 degree heat, then you can too.. lol you will be fine... You remind me of those guys in the oil field in 13'.... If something was off the least bit they whined like a bunch of school girls... The human body can take a lot and I think you can too!

Not to mention for decades guys drove with no power steering or a/c. Man up and get the load delivered then go find another company to be unhappy at.

Is that 750 in 10 hours or is that in a WEEK?

If its 750 in a week, that's hardly driving anywhere.

As far as the real advice, there is no good alternatives. Get empty then take it to the yard and go home. Otherwise your DAC probably will be trashed.

Finally but not least 2 days is hardly any time to "Get accustomed" to the company and vice versa.

I think that's some of the best advice I've ever heard on this forum.

Really you should just make yourself throw up right when you get out of the truck. Who's going to question the guy that's literally puking all over the place? Tell them it's unsafe to drive and get the hell out of there.

I think he's saying he's 26 miles away getting loaded and they're not going to be able to get him home the way he wants and he thinks he's getting shafted on his pay.

He's got to figure some way for them to get him back to the terminal because they probably will just keep dispatching him and he'll be running all over the place under load.

    You’re taking the high road.

Ever notice that the people who complain about the job and the money will eventually tell you why they don’t make money? People who get fired for too many hits always downplay their Fups. “It was that stupid yellow pole’s fault!”

2 days on the job and he already knows what his regular pay is going to be. Interesting. 2 days in and he wants to quit. Fine, quit.

“But what about the load, Six?”

That’s the high road. A decent driver wouldn’t even ask.

“But what about Dak and my record, Six?”

No worries...you will find another slumlord company to take you on. They’re LOOKING for drivers like you.
