3 months of experience only? That's because it is how long it takes to get enough confidence driving a big truck. The rest is simple, 10k and 700 FICO will get you a truck and trailer.

Most want to be their own bosses vs working for someone else. No_bitch_or_bastard will tell me when to go, where to go, where to fuel or whatever else to do! F..them bosses! In this free country everyone ought to be their own boss!
Making money - whatever is left after fuel. Maintenance is insignificant and if you're lucky it won't ever be needed. There's a truck payment but I'll worry about it later...
Cash reserves are not necessary. Who wants to use their own cash, anyway? There are credit cards for that - you're also getting points when you use them and this way they make tons of cash for you. You don't make it? Do Chapter 7 - let them repo that POS junk and I still have my cash. The house was in my wife's name, anyway. Besides, there is too little equity on it for them to even bother.
Getting loaded was never simpler - there are loadboards for that.
Getting paid....there are factoring companies - very good people - will give you money the same day....what boss would pay you on the same day? You deliver that load for a $1000 - upload that BOL and $955 is in you bank in a few hours. Who can make money faster than that?!
Speaking English - that's what's UBER, Convoy, JB Hunt, Schneider apps are for, other than that "Yes sir. No sir" will do.

I don't think he was wanting to buy his own truck. He was asking why so many newbies want too.

Its happening in many industries nowadays for a reason that there is an internet. New generation, no matter wheather you are an immigrant or Native American, being called entitled for a reason. Look at all this bloggers that will post whatever to get views, not even 20% of them are legit, the rest are dummies that make other dummies believe that its all unicorns and rainbows. You can't control it or can you? Life would be so much harder if everyone was smart. So chill out and be respectfull to other nation representatives if you want to be respected

For some its not a bad move. If it fails it can be chalked to getting their feet wet. There’s always company! Like many have said, your never actually feel ready to get yours authority. Let’s not be heepofgrits.

I found the way to benefit from it, i know of a guy that exactly fits what OP mentioned. He known for doing other guys regular loads and dropping his business cards saying he'll do it for cheaper rate.
When my rate is far off then brokers, i tell them that i got a number of a trucker that most likely will do it for that rate, but don't be surprised if he doesn't have an insurance cause he cant afford one doing loads for market value rate

    J.S. and Rideandrepair Thank this.

You hit it on the nail, back in September, downright Prophetic, I’d say.
