Just overhauled the engine and put new cylinder head. After not even 100 miles noticed oil seeping between the head and head gasket on the fron of the engine. Valve cover gasket is dry and also the harness where it goes in the head. Can it be a bad head? Anyone ran in to this problem before?

question did you put new head bolts.
-
$1,000,000 says you rebuild it the cheap way.
-
What do you mean by that? What is the cheap way?truckdriver31 Thanks this.
-
I am not sure if they put new head bolts or not
-
always put new head bolts on. they stretch over time.
-
Bottom line it should not be seeping, or even leaking at 100 miles. If you used a reputable shop get it back soon and show them. I purchased a used truck and a year in, broke a head bolt. Don't know who worked on it, but my mechanic said they reused the head bolts. Head didn't leak oil. Guess previous owner tried to save $, or mayby a substandard mechanic?truckdriver31 Thanks this.

They did use new head bolts. And i did it at a reputable shop in Nc. They are known for builduing engines. They said it.s either the head gasket or the head. They will take apart the head and take it to the machine shop to make sure everything is ok with it. It wouldn.t be the first time that we see a bad new part from volvo.

as long as they make u whole thats all that matters

That's true. Only that it's on my time. After i already waited for the truck. I don.t know what the cheap way to rebuild an engine is. I think we did everything right. I got an overhaul kit from volvo, new head, new injectors. They said the overhaul kit contained everything to do the bottom end and top part. I'm not really familiar when it comes to rebuilding engines. All i know is that the only thing old left is the block and crankshaft.
