    It’s only a temp alarm no clock.
    The temp alarm is very useful and I don’t think I could live with out it.
    I have used it exactly ZERO times since I have owned the truck.

    Yes you can remove it no problem.
    The one in my truck is still fully functional but a quick glance for outside air temp is all I use it for.
    The rest of the features are useless in my opinion.

    The alarm on an outside temp gauge is to tell you when it hits freezing temps, so you know that rain just turned to ice. lol
    The teltecs I put in all my trucks do not have an audible alarm, but start flashing ice when the temp gets there for a second or two.

    It has an audible alarm setting for both inside and out side temperature.

    So you don't freeze to death in you're sleeper, when you're apu runs out of fuel.
