Foreign "Students" Displacing Canadian Truck Drivers

Dont have a problem with them expect that most of thse new guys work for really low rates that effects everyone else with low rates

 

Funny my buddy is actually a student and drives for them. He's constantly posting on snapchat driving 120-140kmh in California. I've seen speeds up to 147. Only a matter of time before something bad happens.

Sure, but they get the rates so low, by not paying the drivers; literally! Rolling sweatshops, with the promise of Permanent Residency. I work with some Chinese guys, who were Heavy Haul drivers in China. They got suckered into coming over here to work for one of these bigger scabby outfits (they won't tell me, my guess is Lightspeed or Syndicate), and they literally got paid enough to eat food (and live off fuel points / showers). Constantly threatened, family threatened, thankfully they were smart enough to do something about it. Glad to have them with us now, they definitely won't be abused here.

 

I'm honestly starting to believe if you're part of the Loblaws/CN/CP Cartels, you're untouchable. I mean its a daily thing that someone is reporting a CNTL, RIG, Syndicate, New Way, truck doing something insane. Doesn't even seem to phase them.
