The only problem I have with that listing is there's no pictures and it's "under contract" in all the Vegas listings and is also listed as a "no show". That and it seems to keep getting relisted with a "sale pending" on a number of sites. Without looking at it, I have to assume it's a gutted foreclosure property and the bank is using multiple agents to try and unload it.
I wanna get my CDL, but every company that runs a school doesn’t have one in my state

I was actually looking at some condos in Reno that were pretty reasonably priced, and Reno is along a major trucking corridor. Another option I was looking at was buying a class c rv and just spending a few days at the beach each month. That would work if I went with CRST, but not if I went with Jim Palmer. The plan I'd really like to do is run 5-10 yeas (or how ever long it takes) and save to buy some land near Bishop, CA and put a house on it and drive the 75/25 for Eastern Sierra Transit. Just drive in the winter and summer tourist seasons with a month or so off in between.

Last year there was many of those listed for between $15K - $20K and they finally all sold.
I think they're probably old motels that someone bought and is selling them room by room.
Pretty cheap way to get a legal residence in a tax free state.
I think one person bought several of those rooms and converted them to condo's and resold them one by one.COBB2070 Thanks this. -
I just have to get the balls to pull the trigger and get my ### to school.....lol

Reno is a good option. Get a cheap RV and become a member of Escapees RV Club and this club can make you a legal resident of Nevada. A few drivers on here did that and a couple became legal residents of Texas, which is also a tax free state.
Maybe find a clunker RV or pickup truck with a camper top that will register/pass as and RV and use that, if it will pass an emissions test.Last edited: Apr 28, 2019

Here is another way to get by cheaply and have a legal residence. Use this website for any town you choose. I used West Wendover, Nevada because I thought about moving there one time.
I found a few for less than $300 a month in various towns in Nevada.

Right now I have a good friend who is a chemical engineer for Lithium mining companies. Worked Silver Peak and Reno,NV and now he's in Ridgecrest, CA working for a company with a mine somewhere near Mojave. I can use his address for a few years until it's time to settle down. Usually has good parking available. As for an RV, I was thinking used from someplace like Cruise America or El Monte RV. Sure they have some miles, but they're newer and a little less worry.

Most companies that have schools should (and I KNOW that Swift DOES) put you on a bus round trip at their expense for you to attend one of their locations if they don't have one in your state. Pay typically starts once schooling is done and you're on a trainer truck, and any paid orientation (if applicable) is usually attached to one of your earlier checks after being released to solo. That said, the few weeks of unpaid schooling is somewhat unavoidable. My best advice is to save the hell out of your money before enrolling, and save more than you think you'll need, then live as frugally as possible while at the school. Best of luck!Evergreenapple Thanks this.

Thank you, I would never ever go to Swift, Prime, etc for training because they make you team drive as part of training, I was looking st places like Maverick, Roehl, and TMC -
Check with R.E. West. This company advertises they pay you to go to their school and there's no contract to sign.
