I'm at a weird place in my career and I need some help deciding on what my best move forward is. I have until tomorrow to make involving where I'm going to be working. I've been offered jobs by three companies: an oil field as a hydrovac, a local food service, and an otr company owned by a family member.
The hydrovac is in a very square state about 1,700 miles from me. Their offering lodging, six day work weeks, and $1500/wk with the promise of raises after a couple months(I have no oilfield experience.) I've been trying to get a foot in the door of the oil and gas industry for some time now and I know the money can be crazy out there.
The food service is in my city making local deliveries. They're offering a 6 a.m-5 p.m steady work day, home in my own bed every night and $1500/wk.
The otr company is owned by a close family member, it's a new, unproven company which to me carries inherent risk however this risk affords me certain liberties that I would have no where else. They're offering the chance to be there at the start of something, semi-unlimited time off(if I need a week or two off he's not gonna say anything to me about it,) home every weekend, and he's guaranteeing(you guessed it) $1,500/wk with the promise that I'll be seeing $2,000+/wk after the company gains it's footing.
I want to maximize my potential future earnings as I have no intention of driving a truck in my mid 30's/40's. I would like to be a small fleet owner myself one day. I can see a clear path forward with each option but I can also see otr and oilfield having two major risks. Oilfield has the potential of another downturn and OTR companies are struggling for freight due to ongoing trade war. So clearly the least appealing yet safest option is food service.
I have no wife, no kids, and nothing holding me to where I am. I'm having trouble discerning which is my best option so if anyone could bring up something I may have overlooked that would be super helpful. All 2 cents appreciated.
Crossroads in my life, I could use some advice.

1st rule in business.
Don't mix it with friends or family.
A starting business can't guarantee a thing beyond today, maybe tomorrow.
Otr and oil, well all industry is cyclical.why not follow the work you have been chasing?
No real advise here.
Good luck with your choice -
is the food service job 5 or 6 days a week?

Obviously you are fortunate to have those options. I would try to look 10 years down the road then look at each job and decide which one has a better chance of getting you to your future goals. I believe if you really think about it, the choice will become clearer.

I’d do oil. With all the nonsense going on with Iran oil could easily spike and you’d make bank
