    TESLA LOGISTICS LLC

    Truck is a 579 2018 Peterbilt. Truck has Keep Trucking ELD, Prepass, APU, Inverter, Microwave and Refrigerator. Drivers are paid the following:

    – OTR Solo – 1099 or W2($1500 guaranteed weekly)

    3 weeks out 5 days home

    4 weeks out 7 days home



    Driver Qualifications

    Must be at least 21 years old or older

    Must have Class A CDL with two years’ experience

    Must be able to drive a 13-speed manual transmission

    Tanker Endorsement Required but not necessary

    US Citizen or possess valid Alien Registration Card

    No convictions from the following in last three years:

    Speeding over 15 MPH

    Following too close

    Unsafe or erratic lane change

    Reckless or Careless Driving

    No more than 2 moving violations in last 12 months or 3 in last 24 months

    No license suspensions for points in last 5 years

    Must have an acceptable CSA scorecard

    Sounds like to me he is offering $1500/wk total. If you want a w2 than he is still gonna pay $1500 out of his pocket but will need to account for all taxes being taken out as an employee. So, $1500 less 7.5% he has to pay on his behalf plus whatever taxes need to be taken out on your behalf.

    I'm not sure that's what he is offering but that's how I read it.

    I commend you on your post except one thing that confuses me. You said ,"

    A driver can be hired as a contractor or “subcontractor” to drive under 1099. Lately we have been finding that it’s about 50/50 on what drivers will want to run as; W2 or 1099.
    You can always offer to provide tax assistance with the drivers’ quarterly taxes if they go 1099.....we do, it’s just one of many driver retention items we offer.

    Tax assistance as in, we can help you file or find an H and R block type of service if they prefer, not pay for it.
