Yeah I wasn’t happy with $1350 it’s just I was willing to do it for that to get the truck going on a load.

You made a good decision though. I wouln't cry over $2.57 a mile to start moving. Yea North Carolina you might take a little hit coming out on rate but freight is there according to trends. Just use that market to get you into a better market. Just as long as you meet your quota your good. It don't matter how you do it. Sometimes it comes easy sometimes it don't.

Oh yeah for sure I have taken more loads like that this year than I care to think about. And one day we'll all be laughing about this when we're buying new toys and taking vacations again.

I’m NC based, I’ve mainly run the eastern seaboard. Flatbed, Step w/ Ramps and RGN. Sold my flatbed in 2017, primarily ran the step and RGN last 2 years about. Sold the Step deck a month ago as it had really good equity in it and was a decent piece of equipment I know would sell. RGN is paid for and so is truck. I’ve only ran 24,000 miles this year, Down significantly from last 3 years. And that’s a lot of deadheading. I also have 2 young children now, and I’m into working harder not smarter. Trust when I say this, it’s not just foreigners hauling cheap freight, I’ve seen Cheap RGN freight on the back of some socalled “big rides” half these dudes have no clue. In my opinion we had the upper hand last 2 years. Once the spot markers dwindled down people got really desperate. Foreigners, Americans, middle sized fleets. We let it get back to this by people accepting some of these rates. Sitting home pisses me off, and I was on the road to buying a house and some land, and paying a new car off. I ain’t desperate enough though to put a $2.50 a mile load on a RGN. Or go to the northeast for $2600. As I saw a middle aged American man doing the other day with a brand new KW w900L with mail box lettering on the door. Was loading a 9’ wide wheel loader for $2600 to MA or NH I forget now, from NC. I’m staying hopeful and optimistic things will turn around, also trying for my own customers which is very difficult. 6 years as a owner op and 12 years total of trucking I really don’t know what else to do or want to do anything else. No matter a Van, reefer,RGN, flatbed, Step etc, just try to say no and let it sit until you get what you need.

Thanks I’m not crying the blues by any means, just explaining what I’m seeing. I enjoy being at home lately.
