Here I thought I was doing pretty well! Then I just read that Damian Lilliard of the Portland Trailblazers, is going to sign a $191,000,000 four year super max extension!

So now you're up to $2.15 a mile? You are definitely a super trucker! ;-)

Sometimes. Like this week will be about $8000 to Landstar. But didn't plan it this way. That will be a little under 6 to me when the smoke clears and dust settles gross.

Truck 2 is probably 7ish. Like 5100 or 5200 to him gross.

Some is being right place right time. More is gotten some good agents. Just turned some lonnnnnngggggggg runs down. Just cause were no where near them. Freight is here.

Truck 2 is milling around Midwest last week, this week, cause his grandson is graduating form kindergarten or something and he's going home a few days.

He netted, netted $4K two weeks ago.

You guys are making a HUGE F MISTAKE in my opinion not rolling up your sleeves and getting jiggy wid it. Cause the Indians, and Euro's are.

There was a dude I quoted $3K to do a hazmat load. He got it covered for $1500. Now I'd sit before I did that. But all I do is work, and I keep the money in the business. But there's still freight everywhere. Some is like " Just wow " that's wtf cheap. I guess maybe cause we have our fingers in so many things.

Dave, I have a wife, children and grandchildren, with a nice home in S. Oregon. I'm content working the way I do, it's a priority to me.

I say more power to you guys who work the way you do.

    It's just not for me...

The three trucks nearest me, right now, at this dock are white Volvos. One Indian. Two Russians. 1 van. Two reefers. reefers are newish TK Precedents.

Ok, they're the same place I am. I made good money being here.

    Where are you guys?

It’s all relative to your situation. I know guys who make $3 .50 a mile loaded and empty all day long . They run short 70 mile loads ((140 round trip, they come back empty ) no touch , no ELD, no tolls, cheap older trucks. They gross a $1000 a day on 280 miles and they’re home for dinner every night. What do they do? They haul trash in tipper trailers . Some have been doing it over 25years and live good lives. It’s a niche business some may look down on but
It’s a recession proof business that’s pretty steady year round and pays decent. I know guys who haul heavy upstate( overweight permit) trash or C&D and salt back and do
$2000 a day on 550 miles round trip and usually home everyday . This is everyday work not hit and miss gravy loads.

    Well, I'm in Portland tonight.

I just finished my dinner that I prepared right here in the truck! Carne asada burritos with rice. Oh so good!

One good thing is if they are running for that, we won’t have to worry about them being in business much longer. That’s good news.

Gotta start with clean clock. They have facilities though, even a shower, and it's clean. Parking. Food and coffee couple blocks away.
