From what was posted all around ELD records is not editable at all. I have EOBRD now and it messing with truck location. Sometime I have stop for fuel in location A after pull forward driving starts from location B.
Duty record location doesn't match with location on fuel receipt. Have to stop shortly to edit location.
but how I can edit it with ELD?
Going to be lot of false record in logbook and OOS and citations to the unaware drivers.
How it will work for us.

I don't know if you are a company or just a company driver.
If you are a company and the EBROD or whatever it is not working precisely for you and accurately then you get rid of it. You are responsible for all violations when audited.
If you run ELD that is part of your truck, it has to be accurate and I imagine it will.
However it costs more money am I not wrong?
You will either spend good money for the ELD done or you will be fined fined fined fined fined for every little flaw that EBROD or whatever stacks violations.
Or go buy a truck that is so old there is no computer in it and you can run paper logs. The fuel mileage loss would not be too bad and it will take you a little longer to get there on less horse.Snailexpress Thanks this. -
You can edit/alter your RODS on an ELD almost exactly as you could when running a paper logbook.
The one and only thing that can never be altered is a driving event/line 3.
Every edit you make is logged and you are required to annotate the edit with the reason for doing so.Snailexpress Thanks this. -
2) ELD's are editable by someone with Admin privileges (which could also be the driver in small operations.) Edits will leave a trail, but they are allowed. For instance, I regularly have to help Admins edit the Duty (line 4) hours even on ELDs because drivers forget to log Off-Duty or Sleeper. The only edit you can make for line 3 (the drive line) is to assign that drive time to another person. You can't "undrive" a truck, but you can assign it to another driver, or a mechanic, or your dog.Snailexpress Thanks this. -
The one we use is unalterable by the driver for any event involving movement, be it PC, yard move, or line 3 driving.
We were having an issue with system being degraded for not connecting to the network, the fix was to install another device that was a higher standard than 3g in addition to the device. I had a system degrade after sitting too long with that device masked by positioning, it did correct, but not right away.
Fuel receipts list a location, not distance and direction from another point of a population center of 6000 or greater.
I haven't checked distance travelled, lately.
I'm convinced that no one, including the FMCSA, had any idea what effects the ELD rules would have. The phrase "be careful what you wish for, you just might get it", seems to fit the situation we are in. -
You make an annotation if there is an issue.

I like to know how are these produce haulers adapting to the new system. Multi pick ups has to interfer with your hrs at some point. The regulations keep getting tighter and the rates keep dropping. 2 negatives dont = a positive in trucking
