With felonies, the thing is the time since and type. I know a guy that recently got a great job and he had a felony. Been almost 7 years since he got out of prison. His charge? 18USC 1001, telling a lie to a Federal Agent. He did almost 2 years. It's a whistleblower situation I'm not going to get too deep into. This company welcomed him with open arms. Helped him with a refresher and he got his CDL. The primary problem with felonies is the customer base. In the end, it boils down to time.

Vast majority of companies will disclose policy on hiring felons in the application process.
It should not be a problem at all in my opinion unless the felony or misd involves drugs sex or violence. -
I think some carriers that run Canada frowns on it as they want any driver to be able to take a dispatch.
There are shippers and recievers that a felon can't get on the property too, maybe some carriers deal with more of them than others. I know when I have had to deliver in a nuclear power plant, I would have to fill out a packet and fax it in a day ahead of time, then upon arrival, would have to fill out the same paperwork again for some reason before they would run the background check or whatever they did. -

Spoiler alert: the federal agents intentionally lie, under oath, all the time, along with all other law enforcement.
