Saia cuts pay in wake of freight falloff

tell me about it. ran for them doing linehaul, terminal to terminal for 10 years. awesome benefits and pay. stayed in motels after your 14 was up, plenty of miles. then WHAMMO! laid off. now im going to maverick for orientation on april 19. did flats for 5 years b4 saia. maverick seems like a decent company. the change will do me good, hopefully. but yes just spoke to my dispatcher on friday and he told me the hammer came down. the city guys got a 5% cut and no 401k match. the linehaul guys got 5% cut and are on a call or rotating cut list. bummer, but i was lucky i guess cause i was able to get in with maverick pretty quickly, due to my prior experience and 1.5 million miles safety record. GO MAVERICK!

 

Completely off the subject, but could someone please tell me how to pronounce this company's name? Is it say-I-uh or sah-e-uh?

I used to work for them and we couldnt get an answer.

We just called it Shy Motor Freight. LOL

I always say it "sigh-uhh". but then again, I don't work there...
