Hi...
Hope this is in the right place.
Iam new, 1st post.
I went and got my CDL W/all endorsements on my own and Iam set up with CRST to go through their orientation in Oklahoma City starting on Monday. 4-10-09
Iam NOT real crazy about doing the "team" thing but.... oh well.
I have looked through the forums a little and have seen some bad things about them. I have also seen a few good things too.
Without writing a book about why I went with them....
What should I "be on the look out for" and what can I expect during the orientation?
What about after that?
I was told.. 4 days orientation then in a truck for 28 days, then home 5.
After that... 21 days out/5 days home.
How close to home do they get you?
ANY input would be helpful.
Also......
I plan on driving up there, couple hr drive.
The recruiter I talked to said that they have a lot to leave my car for the "28" days out and that after the "28" days they WILL get me back to OK. City so I can pick up my car for the "5" days off...... Thoughts on this?
Should I just leave my car at home and ride the bus? I HATE BUS RIDES!!!
I know.....
recruiters LIE.
Least my Army recruiter did. LOL!!!!
ANYWAY....
Just looking for a little input here.
Thanks.

take your car, the lot is safe and under guard, what you have to watch out for weird co workers
this is one reason I left them so many years ago, my first trainer was violent and rude, resulting in a fistfight he lost badly, number 2 wasa great driver whom I learned alot from, that guy had been driving for 40 years at that point and had forgotten more than I will ever know about driving a truck
then came the co drivers
the first one had sticky fingers and was a homosexual alcoholic, number 2 was a real psycho, this was when I quit
that was early 1995 so things might have changed a bit -
Goose they fired security about 2 years ago. And what used to be driver parking is now where they keep new trucks. Now drivers park in the employee lot or where ever they can find on the yard. It's not as secure as it used to be.

I can't find an "OK City" on my map of Oklahoma but I do see an Oklahoma City. The federal rules at 395.8 do not allow a driver to abbreviate a city name, only a state name. There is also no city in Indiana named "Indy" either.
-
Dont wanna step on any toes... But...
Aint OK the abbreviation for Oklahoma? -
OK...
re read your post psanderson.
I'll see if I can change it just for you.
j/k trying to get my post count up a little. LOL!
i will see if I can change it though. -
EDIT button no longer there.
sorry -
But not for a city as a city name may not be abbreviated according to 395.8

There is no option here for a city abbreviation
