I don't know about ya'll but I like the current HOS,the 34 hr restart gives dispatch more of a reason to get me home because being able to drive 11 hrs a day I can cover more miles and burn that book up and make them send me home. With 10 hrs a day and no 34 they'd be more likely to force me to stay out and run when I want to be home.It works well for me as I'm sure it does a lot of other drivers as well.On top of it,since they changed to this HOS setup,if I remember right, the number of truck involved fatalities is down a monumental amount,so why change it?Geeze they're taking our hrs and letting the mexican drivers come steal our freight :MEGA1: There's a smack for ya FMCSA and all yer crooked pals!

I personally like the current boss of stubborn myself also. But the whole thing can be adjusted a bit better to help the drivers out a little more and not just the trucking companies.
I can understand the 11 hour rule so that drivers can make the miles to make a decent paycheck. But I think that the 34 hour reset is a joke for alot of drivers, especially when you still want or have a life outside of the truck. By the time I usually get home on the weekend for my 34 hr reset, it's normally late Friday or early Saturday morning. Most of that day is used to sleep and then cut up and try getting things done and spend time with family and friends. Before you know it, it's time to get ready to go back out. Basically, there's not near enough time to do much in 34 hours. I've been in the trucking industry for 30 years. Have played my just dues and spent way than enough time on the road away from home, family and other things that matter. The reset should allow drivers a full 48 hours off. It should be left up to the driver on Whether they want that or the regular 34 hr. Reset. Trucking companies need to understand that there needs to be a balance all the way across the board when it comes to trucking. Sitting behind the wheel for 11 hrs everyday is tiring and will wear your body out eventually if you let it. Not to mention the safety issues. Alot of drivers want to complain about the hours of service rules. Well look at it this way. You can keep pushing hard like that everyday for days, weeks or years, whatever the case may be. But the one minute Tha God forbids, you end up in an accident or worse, your whole life and world is gonna change forever. And why, because you wine about having to take breaks or the mandatory 10 hour break or 34 hr reset. All the money in the world is not worth going out there and hurting or killing yourself or someone else!

Think about the big picture! Stay safe

I prefer the older HOS, the Reset makes it faster to get back 70 hours to run and the 30 minute break is unnecessary. You will get that fueling once a day anyway. Takes at least that long to get in and out.

Page returns with no value on link.

I don't care what companies think. They will run you until you fail, then fire you.

    And 6...

Oh well. I have pulled back from most all computer stuff. I do a little here and there but I still have my mind which is itself probably labeled corrosive hazmat by now.
