Waters high everywhere I look. Potato crops up north are threatened, and fields flooded in Ms, Ar. Keeping planting on hold. Bad produce season means more reefers hauling dry van loads. Bad news for all the rates. I’m guessing. Wait and see. Can’t control Mother Nature.

If you are aiming at Memphis and want to get around the I40 Conway problem there are US 412, US 64 US 65 and so on But many of the roads up there are small and eventually Fayetteville and Springdale to OK Border is right there.

There are some roads in this area that will take a big truck above I40 towards highway 65 above Conway, I'll write about a few of them tomorrow. But it's not necessarily for anything bigger than a standard 18 wheeler who has some horsies and not too heavy.

Fourche Dam Pike which is right near I-440 east of Little Rock is beginning to flood back from the Arkansas river at that crossing.

The issue is going to be deciding sometime after 12 hours or so from now will they have to close a runway or the entire Major Airport at some point in the future? The elevations of the Airport will be very very close to forecast flood height.

    Google Maps

There is a huge amount of industrial right here. Particular CATERPILLAR. I believe that location of CAT on 440 is still good ground. But you might have to get into it from the back way behind Petro somehow off US 70 if necessary. I don't know if OD loads going to and from there can handle that road. CAT will tell you where to go.

Entergy Nuclear One is doing well. They are not really that hard up. Afterall the more water the merrier near Russellville.

Anyway, Entergy maintains a real time outage map. They are presenting a Arkansas outage with deliberate disconnecting to flooding. Waters come up, short power out and boom. So cut power, wait for water to go dry and turn it back on later.

The power disconnects are presented with the Diamond Icon. They will stay disconnected or increase in number as needed until this flooding is over and done with.

As a side note, I understand New Orleans is opening a flood barrier (Or closing it rather) at the Mississippi at 60 feet to divert into a large lake. It's only been operated 3 times in our History in that city down there.

Missouri Reports a Levee Break and beginning to flood a number of areas up there. Probably from the Mississippi river area.

Gribble Road, worse case scenario will close US 70 at or from east of I-30. I-30 crosses over US 70 with a sort of a ramp over, about 30 feet. For the Union Pacific Railroad Yards.

(No word on Union Pacific Yet, I will explore them tomorrow on related forums to see if they have affected operations in the Jenks yard or etc in this area.)

I am aware of another levee to US 70 from 440 along the Indian Mounds Exit from I-440 into town. It is a older one. About 20 feet or so. It should hold a while. There are houses along the river bank though that will be lost before the river reaches that Levee.

Bruce Oakley is apparently down on Gribble Road. I am not certain what they have decided to do with their trucks in this state. But probably more than all over it.

Idrive arkansas has been updated in real time to show the magnitude of the Broadway Street Gribble Street district failure. The irregular rectangle denotes the flooding that is most immediate.

There is simply too much important stuff in there. Traffic is going crazy. There is everything there along that district commercial, gas stations, auctions, shooting range and warehousing for trucking. I wonder if Food delivery full load trucks will have to postpone delivery there making for spot shortages here in this state in a few days in say fast food, convenience stores and some grocery stores that are independent

I understand a form of combat is being waged on that wall and others if necessary tonight.

Dont come through Little Rock tonight. It's not worth it. Cross over at Pine Bluff. Flood wall defense breaching.jpg

The Dardenelle City and Swift Bayou back door flooding after the Levee break earlier today is becoming a real threat to the I40- Russellville area.

They have established a zone in which the waters are freely flooding in real time this hour. Dardenelle is at apparently a evac order I don't know how many thousands are there, but they are doing what they have to.

The maps have not updated yet on this small detail, but THV 11 in real time reported on the Battle at Conway itself that has apparently begun. It's a small link to a whole lot of flooding down the list starting with Conway area at I-40 where sandbagging houses and other areas where water has never been before.

Link: (This is a living document, it changes whenever they input new information in a variety of forms.)

Homes turn into islands as water floods neighborhoods in Conway

Im a going to go ahead and call it for I-40. If you are sending drivers or rolling trucks this way, get around it. It's a matter of time.

US 64 does go into Conway itself downtown a few blocks from I40 which is elevated. But the drainage curb sewer grates go to the Arkansas river, which is coming back through and flooding from below. So at some point US 64 at US 65 might be a problem I don't have access to that information in Conway. Maybe the Local Law will be pleased to tell you if you can use it.

Another town called Mayflower East of Conway on I40 south to little rock roughly, has been flooded a little. The silence of updated reporting is ominous to me. I40 is not that far above the waters for that stretch along Lake Conway and then Mayflower. About 20 miles or so.

The more I think on it we will have to accept they might close I40 a lane at a time later into June. When it happens if it happens. Don't be there when it does.
