I've been reading this thread for over a year and told myself I'd never submit a post to it. Guess I was wrong.

Sent MT out of the house and they send me an "offer" picking up a MM 184 EB I-80. Beinz I'm from these woods I knew immediately what was up. Somebody don't feel like chanin' up and they want me to bail em' out.

"Bring them your MT and take their load to Modesto". I said sure. Just gettin ready to head up the hill and then they send a message: "Uh, have you left yet? The driver (she) said she just figured out she could split sleeper berth time...".

To which i responded: "I think what you meant to say was controls have been lifted, I'll wait 4 new offer". Why the hell do they have to lie? Endnz up she brings the trailer to me at the bottom of the hill near Colfax. I take it from there cause she's out of hrs, mostly because she refused to chain. Wish i had that luxury. My manager said to chain up, it's required.

I deliver last nite to Modesto and here i sit at the Love's in Ripon...A whopping 100 miles so far comin out of the house. And the run they had for me coming out of Santa Clara (Owens Corning) they cancelled.

I'm gonna apply at Taco Bell online after posting here...at least i'll be home some evenings...assuming of course they are accepting applications for a custodial trainee...

By the way, who ever started this thread has done a fantastic job. Congrats on the attention to detail.

    Basically yes.

I put in the empty call after sitting in a WalMart DC dock door for 3hrs. That got me the usual "no freight, find a place to park" along with a note to not expect anything to be offered out for the rest of the day. On the way to the truckstop where I expected to spend a substantial amount of time I actually got a load offer.

It was a little 280mi trip that picks up tomorrow morning and delivers by noon in Indiana. I'm assuming I was put on this short run to get me close to something going through Lincoln so that the trainee can get off the truck and into his own.

It's 60 miles later and we are at a Love's down the road in Ohio and he has been playing with his new Co-Pilot Truck route GPS for the last hour. I think he is confused.

So my running total for the week, about 760 miles. That's it since Saturday Noon and I won't pull out of here until Friday morning. Ouch! Bright side, I put in just short of 2900 mi last week before hitting the skids this week.

Time to get my butt back to Phoenix to bump up that monthly mileage.:biggrin_2553:

We all give in to temptation eventually. Welcome to our little world.

Are you a Crete driver also?

Maybe we should start calling you SuperLongbow, SuperSnacks prodigy.

At least that's good for a 1000+ miles. I suppose you could always turn down the load and wait for something to get you by the house but I have the feeling select destinations out of PA are slim pickins at the moment.

Now for the bad news. I sat for two days when I delivered to New Albany, MS a while back. But then I was glued an annoying Shaffer trailer at the time.

Hang in there. You could have been put on a 280 miler like I was today.

Hey, I'm not complaining. The load was ready to go today so I went and picked it up and brought it down here to New Kingstown for thw night. New Albany has actually been pretty good to me in the past. Hope my luck holds out.

I breeze past a lot of Crete trucks going north on the I-35 from Dallas these days, you ever deliver up there in Ardmore / Gene Autry OK?

    Hey ET,
Is getting glued to Shaffer Blue the norm for you? Never had that problem when we were with Crete!

I deliver to Ardmore and that general area on a regular basis. As a matter of fact I was just over there last week, right before my miles went into the toilet.

It rarely happens. Only a few times in the last couple of years. On one occasion it was done to get me a load home at Christmas and the other times it was to repower a Shaffer load that was sitting in one of our yards with no Shaffer drivers available to deliver it.

I've pulled refers in the past and don't mind it, but getting ride of the trailer once empty can be a real pain in the back side.

My week of despair continues. I picked up my 280 mile run this morning after putting in a whopping 75 miles yesterday and had it delivered by noon (leaving me with 205 miles to finish it off today).

I have since been informed that there is no freight left in Indiana for the remainder of the day and load offers for tomorrow are in the works. So here I sit in a McDonald's parking lot with 4 other Crete trucks waiting for something to do.

Friday is now shot and by tomorrow morning I will be sitting with a grand total of 980 miles or so over the last 6 1/2 days.

They say patience is a virtue. This seems like an appropriate time to bit my tongue.
