I'm in the process of changing my truck and I have two choices
_ 2001 KW W900, 500 detroit, 13 speed, 650k miles
_ 2003 Peterbilt C-12 430, 10 speed with a rebuilt engine 3 years Cat Warranty.
They're asking 31k for the KW and 35k for the Pete
Which truck shoul i buy

I would check on this board for a topic concerning someone's father Pete that is for sale...and no doubt a heck of alot less $. They attached a pic and if I could remember where it was at I would provide the link.

Kenowrth for shure the c12 will give alot more problems than the detriot.

but seriously, as much as I like Petes and Cat engines, I dont like the C-12, and I REALLY dont like the 10 speed.
I think you would be happier with the 13 speed.Last edited: Apr 9, 2009

Thank You Very much, So if I'm getting this correct I'll be better buying a detroit with 600k miles plus rather than a rebuilt CAT???

A 8 year old truck thats only done 650k miles sounds a bit suss to me, I'd want to be sure those were genuine miles before I handed over any $$$.

You're correct. Do you guys know what's a DYNO and how much would it cost?
-
But you are right, I would check.
